Best Miami Heat preseason performers so far: Micah Potter & Max Strus

4. Micah Potter

Despite only appearing in one preseason game so far, Micah Potter put on a very impressive performance. There’s only a slight chance he makes the final roster, but he certainly made a case for it.

In the one game he played, Potter put up 13 points and 17 rebounds. He showed some great hustle and played with the intensity that the Miami Heat love to see from their players.

As mentioned, however, there’s a very slim chance he ends up making the final roster. Miami does not have any two-way spots left, so they would have to sign him to a standard deal to keep him around.

Maybe he ends up playing for the Miami Heat G-League team, though. Regardless, it was nice to see such an impressive performance from the rookie big man.

3. Max Strus

Max Strus is an interesting case because he had one bad game, but also two very good. Thus far this preseason, he is the second-leading scorer on the Miami Heat.

After an impressive G-League stint this summer, Strus has been putting on a show in the preseason. Aside from that one off night, he has been lights out from deep.

Strus is showing people why the Miami Heat decided to give him a two-year deal. If he can shoot like this in the regular season, Miami’s bench will be lethal.

The key for Strus will be playing like this on a consistent basis. As long as he can do that, he’ll have plenty of success in the NBA.
