Takeaways from the Miami Heat preseason game vs. the Hornets: Omer Yurtseven & Bam Adebayo

Omer Yurtseven looks confident

For a player who hasn’t played a regular-season NBA game, Yurtseven looks really good. He finished the night with eight points and eight rebounds last night.

His positioning under the rim is super impressive, and it allows him to pull down some crucial offensive boards. On top of that, his ability to stretch the floor is super useful, too.

Yurtseven didn’t end up taking any threes last night, but he impacted the game in other ways. He looked like a beast in the post vs. Charlotte.

Having multiple big men off the bench will be a great advantage for the Miami Heat this season. Yurtseven and Dewayne Dedmon are the perfect backups for Bam Adebayo.

Bam Adebayo has the mid-range shot on lock

Going into this season everyone was begging Bam Adebayo to take more shots. Even Miami Heat legend Chris Bosh got in on the action.

Well, Adebayo showed off his new and improved mid-range jump shot. He was pulling up from that range all game and draining it.

Regardless of whether or not there was a defender in front of him, Adebayo was hitting the shots. He looked super comfortable pulling up from there, too.

If Adebayo becomes a respectable mid-range shooter, it could open up a ton of new offensive sets for Miami. Hopefully, he keeps this up in the regular season.
