Takeaways from the Miami Heat preseason game vs. the Hornets: Kyle Lowry & Tyler Herro

Kyle Lowry can score, too

Before last night’s game, Kyle Lowry was averaging the least points per game on the entire team this preseason. Well, he certainly is not anymore.

Lowry ended the night with 15 points while shooting 5-12 from the field and 4-8 from three-point range. He also tallied five assists, continuing to show off his playmaking.

Through the first three games, everyone praised Lowry for his passing abilities. Well, last night he was able to show that he can score the ball, too.

The impact Lowry has had and will continue to have on Miami’s offense is unmeasurable. They will be a much-improved offensive team because of him.

Tyler Herro is human after all

Tyler Herro looked like a man possessed through the first three preseason games. Well, last night he finally came back down to earth a bit.

He ended the game with only seven points. Herro shot a rough 3-15 from the field and 0-7 from three-point range on the night.

He still looked super confident with everything he was doing, but the shots just weren’t falling. These types of games happen, but it’s worth noting that the guy is actually human.

There’s no doubt that he’ll be able to bounce back from this one, and it would be hard to do much worse. Hopefully, he can have a better game in their next contest when the Miami Heat take on the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday.
