Miami Heat: Perhaps, Tyler’s New Responsibility Has Changed Him For Better

This reason has the least to do with basketball, but the most to do with Herro’s mentality and drive for the game. Tyler Herro recently became a father in September.

New Purpose in Life

When someone has a child, it gives them a new purpose in life. Essentially, if they want to be a good parent, they have to prioritize their child above all else.

As an NBA player and member of the Miami Heat, Tyler Herro is in a position to bring generational wealth to his daughter. His salary is directly related to how he performs on a nightly basis.

This means that if Herro wants to earn more money. he will have to improve his game. Obviously, everyone in the NBA is trying to improve and compete for the same goal.

So what makes Tyler Herro more likely to improve than anyone else in the NBA? Well, besides the previous reasons listed, having a child might actually affect the way Herro plays in a positive way.

In the 2019 playoffs, we saw the Toronto Raptors win their first franchise title, led by superstar Kawhi Leonard. Did Kawhi carry a huge load for the Raptors?

Of course and that’s why he was named the Finals MVP. Did he do it alone?

Of course not. There were several players on the Raptors who helped Kawhi, from All-Stars like Pascal Siakam and current Miami Heat player, Kyle Lowry, to role players like Fred VanVleet, who had a breakout postseason then too.

What does any of this have to do with Tyler Herro? Well, VanVleet’s incredible playoff performance started around May, the same month he became a father to his second child.

This might not be just a coincidence, as perhaps some NBA players are inspired to play better for their children or perhaps they just feel happier, which can help them feel more comfortable on the court. Perhaps Tyler Herro will experience what VanVleet did and feel some extra motivation to play at a high level.

Either way, Tyler Herro looks ready for this upcoming season. The Miami Heat are depending on him having a breakout year.

From what we have seen so far in the preseason, Tyler Herro should deliver that much-needed support.
