The Miami Heat come into this season with a prime opportunity before them. With Kyle Lowry aboard to complete their top trio, with Tyler Herro‘s massive improvement, and with the roster they’ve managed to assemble, they shouldn’t be thinking anything less than title contention.

In order for that to happen, they’ll certainly need all of their guys to play to their maximum potential. That definitely needs to and will include Bam Adebayo.

Coming into this year with a new offensive approach in mind, vowing to be more aggressive and selfish, in a good way, on that side of the ball, that’s where he’ll really look like a different guy this season.

As always though, he’ll be that same all-around terror and especially on the defensive side of the ball. One of the NBA’s elite and still-most underrated defenders, Adebayo has been one of the best in the league since his time as a full-time player began.

The Miami Heat are built to compete at the highest level this season. That’s on both sides of the ball and especially with Bam Adebayo in tow.

A top competitor for the best defender in the league last season, Bam is looking to rise even higher this year. Some think he’ll do just that.

In particular, acclaimed NBA video game brand, NBA 2K, thinks he’ll be the guy. Here is what they had to say.

That would fit right along with the goals that you can be sure the team and the guy has for himself. Towards the notion of his strong interior defense, Adebayo could help further set himself apart from the rest by increasing production in an area that directly shows the impact he’s looking to continue to have.

Averaging just one block per game this past season, he averaged 1.3 in the season prior, his most by far. If he could get that number up to about 1.5 per contest, enough to catapult him into the top-10ish in the league in that area, then that would not only bode well for his team but his stake at the DPOY trophy as well.

He should have a great chance to do so, as well, this year. With Kyle Lowry aboard, he won’t be counted on as much out front, be that on the offensive or defensive side of the ball.

That should allow him to stay closer to the rim for easy buckets and for these purposes, blocked shots. The Miami Heat are in great hands and especially because those hands belong to the guys that will help hold them down this season, especially their defensive anchor, Bam Adebayo.
