Miami Heat players most likely to surprise everyone: KZ Okpala

Through his first two years in the league, KZ Okpala has left much to be desired. He has been unable to contribute meaningful minutes for the Miami Heat just yet.

The biggest area of struggle for him has always been his offensive abilities. He just can’t seem to be an efficient player on that side of the ball.

This trend continued into this offseason as well. Okpala played for Team Nigeria over the summer, as well as Miami’s Summer League team, and just couldn’t put two and two together on offense.

However, something seemed to click this preseason. While he wasn’t great by any means, Okpala did manage to knock down some threes when the ball came his way.

He only hit three of the 10 threes he took, but he just seemed a lot more comfortable taking them. If he can get rid of that weird hitch in his jump shot then the Heat could really have something.

The defense has always been there for Okpala. The way he is able to move his feet is better than a lot of players who have been in the league for years.

However, the key to him having a breakout season is his offense. If that side of his game comes around, then Okpala could end up surprising a lot of people.
