Teams the Miami Heat will compete with in the standings: Boston Celtics & Atlanta Hawks

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics made a ton of weird moves this offseason. They lost a couple of key pieces, but then immediately replaced them while adding even more depth.

Add on the fact that their young players improved and this could be a team to watch out for. This would be especially true if Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown end up getting even better.

The Heat managed to take down Boston in their preseason meeting. However, despite the large margin of victory, that was a close one for the majority of the game.

Based on offseason projections, the Heat should finish higher up in the standings. However, a team with Tatum on it should never be counted out.

Atlanta Hawks

After the run the Atlanta Hawks went on last season, they deserve a ton of respect. Against all odds, they managed to reach the Eastern Conference Finals.

They have a super young, up-and-coming roster with a lot of talented players. Obviously, though, the one player to be worried about is Trae Young.

Young is a budding superstar who is going to give defenses fits for a long, long time. Atlanta has even managed to put a great supporting cast around him.

For as long as Young is leading the way, the Hawks are going to be fighting for a top spot in the East. That puts them right in the way of the Miami Heat this season.
