Miami Heat: Biggest Preseason Takeaways Before Season Opener

Another concern I have for this upcoming season is the bench. Tyler Herro is not an issue and I will talk about him soon, but besides Tyler and Max Strus, Dedmon’s play had me a little concerned.

I saw him missing extra passes and committing silly fouls. Morris didn’t play too bad, but I really wasn’t too impressed and although these concerns are small, at the end of the day it is just preseason.

So, as for the negatives, that’s actually it! The main issue is with KZ and his lack of development.

The biggest positive takeaway from the preseason is that Jimmy can finally rest now that we have another ball handler on the floor. Kyle Lowry sets the tone on offense and defense, something that was clear to see.

Jimmy was able to play one quarter, at the most a half, and while they actually maintained a lead. Another thing to be noticed with Butler is that in the Miami Heat’s game against Boston, he was able to get 11 free throws.

With the new fouling rules in place, it still seemed pretty easy for Jimmy Butler to get contact. It’s a small thing, but Jimmy getting free throws is a crucial part of his game.

So, it’s good to see that he’s still able to get there.
