Miami Heat: 1st Period Ending A Perfect Illustration Of Bench’s Explosive Duality

Making plays of their own on opening night and as they need to do for the remainder of the year for this Heat team to reach its full potential, the Miami Heat reserve unit really showed up on Thursday.

Though a lot of the heavy lifting was done by their starting guys, the bench unit showed you why, how, and just how important they’ll be.

Tyler Herro’s scoring and craftiness, Max Strus‘s shooting, offense, and overall athleticism, and Dewayne Dedmon’s scrappiness, toughness, and no-nonsense mentality for the Miami Heat were all on full display on Thursday.

The entire team and bench unit came to play, doing their parts, but these three really showed their stuff. The night featured Dedmon doing Dedmon things.

He’s the tough guy and the physicality. He showed you that he doesn’t mind getting a little rough and tumble, plus the fact that he plans on using most of his fouls on any given night.

As far as the other two, this play from the end of the first half that features Big Max Strus and Tyler The Baby Goat Herro, really illustrates the kind of explosive dual natured impact this bench unit can, should, and needs to have for the Heat on a game to game basis.

While the blurb about the score, itself, is certainly noteworthy, Tyler Herro gets all the credit above for the amazing shot. Don’t get it twisted and as he should get a ton of credit, the shot was huge and amazing to end the period.
