The Miami Heat had themselves quite the opening night and we called it. It was, somewhat, known that the Miami Heat would take the W on their season-opening night.

But not a lot of fans would’ve even thought of the good guys winning by 42 points and esepcially over the defending NBA Champions. It may just be like any other game for the Miami Heat, but their huge win can be seen as an early statement game and will surely make teams around the league take notice.

It was pure dominance from start to finish, with the Miami Heat Faithful witnessing, perhaps, a glimpse of what they can expect throughout the season. Here’s some of the key takeaways from all that went down.

“The Tyler Herro Show”

The third-year sensation we call Tyler Herro was, simply, spectacular all-night long. He showed that he can thrive coming off the bench and bring buckets with him in a hurry.

The Miami Heat are getting set for game two of the year, against the Indiana Pacers. Before that though, let’s totally wrap up the keys from season opener.

If the first game of the season is any indication of what’s to come, it won’t be a bad idea, at all, for the NBA to just give the Sixth Man of the Year Award to our Herro.

The Bench Mob Takeover

Yes, Tyler Herro led the way, but 75 total bench points is just phenomenal. The boys were all ready to contribute when called upon and they made it a very long night for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Some huge props need to go to Dewayne Dedmon, Max Strus, and Markieff Morris as well, for providing a spark and a lot of energy once they arrived on the court.

Jimmy Buckets Is Back

Our five-time All-Star received a lot of criticism after the Miami Heat’s disastrous playoff performance last season. One thing we can all count on though is the fact that Jimmy Butler will bounce back strong and silence all the haters, just like he did on Thursday night.

His no-nonsense demeanor on the court was very evident all game long and his numbers did all the talking for him. One game down, 81 to go.

It’s still very early in the season, but all signs are already pointing to an epic year for the Miami Heat. If Thursday night’s trend continues, it’s just a matter of time now before the Larry O’Brien Trophy returns to South Beach.
