Trades to help beef up the Miami Heat rotation: Kent Bazemore

This trade is a bit weird only because of how simple it is. The deal would be a one-for-one swap that would send Dewayne Dedmon to the Lakers.

Dedmon has been playing fine for the Heat this season, but there could be a bigger need at a different position. Miami’s wing depth is shotty, and adding Kent Bazemore would help out a ton.

Bazemore has been playing well for the Lakers this season, shooting over 38% from deep. He’s the perfect type of player to come in and help the Miami Heat in their quest for a title.

The reason the Lakers might be interested in this deal is because of how shaky their center depth is. Since Anthony Davis refuses to play center, Dwight Howard and DeAndre Jordan are their only centers.

Adding a guy like Dedmon would give them an extra option at that position. He can stretch the floor a tiny bit and might be a little more athletic at this point in all of those centers’ careers.

This would give them the freedom to buy out someone like Jordan, who realistically, hasn’t looked that great in the past couple of years. Plus, we all know how much LeBron James-led teams love to tinker with their rosters.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have Omer Yurtseven as backup center insurance. They could easily afford to trade Dedmon for extra wing help.

This trade has the potential to benefit both sides. It’s just a matter of how much the Heat value Dedmon over Yurtseven at this point in time.
