The Miami Heat are off to an amazing start and here’s the kicker, they have so much room for improvement. The improvement is all about their shooting numbers, which might be getting back as of Saturday’s contest against the Memphis Grizzlies, but it has to happen more than it doesn’t to be considered real.

While the team and Kyle Lowry, specifically, may be getting back to their hot-shooting ways, there is one guy on the team that has really struggled to get his shot going this season. As surprising as it may be, Duncan Robinson has really struggled out of the gate to get his shot going.

Shooting just 19/55 on the year, thus far, that’s just 34.5 percent. While that would be alright for some and more than a few, that’s just poor, relative to how good you know he can shoot.

When it comes to shooting, Duncan Robinson isn’t just some guy, he’s a top-five shooter in the world, certainly, though he’s probably closer to a top-three shooter. When you are talking about a guy, that for his career, has shot nearly 42 percent on 7.8 attempts per game, that’s not going to cut it.

The Miami Heat have relied a ton on Duncan Robinson’s range shooting in the last couple of years. They’ll do so again this year… once he finally finds his touch.

At the same time though, that’s a huge part of exactly why these struggles aren’t something you lose sleep over. The guy will bounce back.

Again, the man shoots nearly 42 percent on nearly eight attempts, for his career, shooting an absurd 44.6 percent on 8.3 attempts per across 73 games in 2019-20. That guy just doesn’t forget how to shoot.

He’s bounced back before, after the trade rumors of last season, while you still love the fact that he, absolutely, still impacts winning and that’s with his shooting struggles. He still moves and tilts defenses.

Five guys still react to his motion. Three men, at all times, have to be watching him closely, while two have to be ready to get there.

Then there is always the lucky one, you know, that guy tasked with chasing him around screens, curls, and the rest of the court for entire games. The man still has major gravity… and that’s, again, with his struggles.

So, imagine how it’ll all look when he does shake back, because he will. You can count on it.

Even amongst it all though, you can tolerate his early struggles. That’s because you know he’ll find his shooting, he still moves the defense, and thus, impacts winning for the Miami Heat every night.
