The Miami Heat are off to a pretty amazing start. Coming off their fifth straight win and one that took them to 6-1 on the season, they were able to continue their winning ways in Dallas against Luka Doncic and the Mavericks.
It’s no surprise as to how good the Heat are and can be, however, it is a shocker to see them coming together so fluidly and smoothly so fast into the tenure of the new core. While Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo have been among the best players in the league for the last two years, their new teammate, Kyle Lowry, allows them to be even better.
That’s, not to mention, his presence and all that he can do, finally getting back to his hot-shooting ways, it seems, over the last few games.
However and when you look at the Miami Heat, looking at who leads them on or off the court and when the lights are on or off, it’s also no shocker as to why they have managed to be as good as they are on both sides of the ball.
The Miami Heat are off to an amazing start and that has a ton to do with their on-court leadership. Jimmy Butler, however, is a great one, on and off the court.
Jimmy Butler has been one of the best players in the entire league since first coming down to Miami. He has unlocked a new tier to his game, becoming the best version of a playmaker that he has been on the court across his entire career.
While that speaks to what he has been able to do with the lights on, actually during games for the Miami Heat, he has been just a good a leader and bonding agent off of the court.
Whether it’s the things like the above, the encouragement, his relationships, the way that he has endeared himself enough to his teammates to be able to give them the tough criticism, it all plays into why he is who he is, the Miami Heat are who they are, and why they have managed to have so much early success thus far this year.
With a guy that’s willing to be that and everything else that he is for this team and most importantly, on both sides of the ball, it’s easy to see why they do so well. They really like each other.
It’s easy to do that when you all play for each other, have fun doing it, are successful, and when the best player isn’t too big to get some work in with the players who don’t play as much because he still approaches the work as humbly as they do. That’s what makes Jimmy Butler the perfect leader, whether the lights are on or off.
