Miami Heat: They Manage To Salvage Kyle Lowry Triple-Double Performance
The Miami Heat came into Saturday night’s game off of an ugly defeat to the Boston Celtics a few nights back. Allowing the Celtics to get them off of their game and in terrible fashion, you just the knew the Miami Heat would come out and look to get back to themselves in a huge matchup against the Jazz on Saturday.
After Kyle Lowry turned his ankle pretty badly against the Boston Celtics, it was good to see him take the floor. There will be more on him later.
As for the Heat, as a whole, they got back to themselves, indeed. So much so, they found themselves up 112-93 with just five minutes left in the contest.
However, that’s where it all started to go wrong. It was at that point when the Jazz began to go on what would amount to a 20-3 run, bringing the game to 113-115 and with just 19.8 seconds on the clock.
The Miami Heat almost let Saturday’s win get away from them. That would have meant ruining a great Kyle Lowry game.
After four Miami Heat free throws, two makes from Jimmy Butler and a split pair by Tyler Herro, along with a Rudy Gobert dunk before Jimmy’s free throws, Donovan Mitchell would have a chance to tie the ball game.
He took a terrible look, to which the Miami Heat would be able to recover and run the clock out. Ironically enough, the man that recovered the rebound on the final Mitchell heave was a man that had been filling up the stat-sheet all night long.
Finishing with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, Kyle Lowry finished with a triple-double and his best performance as a member of the Miami Heat. That would be his first with the club and his nineteenth overall.
It was a great night for Kyle Lowry and just a good night for the team, as they got the win. It shouldn’t have been that hard though.
With the game locked up, they can’t let their guard down and especially against a team like Utah. This was supposed to be a huge matchup for that reason, because they are a team that is to be taken as seriously as the Heat look to be.
In any event, this was a good bounce back victory for a team about to go on a long road trip. Ironically enough, it’ll see them face this same Jazz team in Utah and just seven days from now.
So, it was definitely good to get a win at home, because the one at their place will be tough. Regardless, they got it done and that’s all that matters, especially because it means they were able to salvage such a great Kyle Lowry showing with a win.
