The Miami Heat got off to a terrible start on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Playing a Lakers team that wasn’t with their leader and best player, LeBron James, the Miami Heat couldn’t get themselves going with any kind of fervor as the ball tipped.

Though they would eventually gain a footing, things would quickly go back to being bad for Miami and much deeper than just their scoring for this game. Jimmy Butler would roll his ankle early in the contest and wouldn’t play much beyond the second period.

That was a huge blow for the Miami Heat. While they are a team of order, meaning everyone plays better when playing in their role and spot in the pecking order, Jimmy Butler is the best flat-out scorer on the team.

Fast forwarding to the fourth period and in a game with 33 lead changes, the Miami Heat and the Lakers would find themselves tied. They would go to overtime and in that overtime, the Miami Heat wouldn’t be able to get it done.

They had a good look in the end. Tyler Herro had a wide-open look behind a wall of screeners, fumbled the ball on the inbounds catch and likely, disrupted his rhythm.

The Miami Heat took on a Lakers Team Wednesday without LeBron James. They just couldn’t get out of their own way long enough to secure a win though.

He was totally on in the game and it stands a great chance that he hits the shot if he catches it correctly. Where he finished with 27 points, four rebounds, and three assists, we needed, at least, 30 from him to give the Heat a further chance to win.

It wasn’t on him though, as it was on the whole team. The team started slow before Jimmy Butler went down, so he gets some of the team blame there.

After Jimmy went down, Bam Adebayo came out in the second half looking as aggressive as he’s been since the first week of the season. As stated many times, he needs to be that way all the time and at the very least, the moment he knows Jimmy isn’t coming back

That’s a slow start from Bam that you just can’t take and especially with all else that had occurred. Even through all of that though, the Miami Heat had a chance and it wasn’t reliant on Tyler’s fumbled attempt.

Well, it shouldn’t have been. Losing by three in the end, the Miami Heat missed four key free throws down the stretch and five in total, though the last was a purposeful miss to try and get off a last second three as the game expired.

Hopefully, Jimmy Butler is ok, meaning this was precaution on the front side of a back to back in LA. The Miami Heat can blame their mistakes and their slow start for this one though.

Thursday night’s game might be the harder of the pair, so, there is also that. Hopefully, they can pull it back together to get a win then.
