Early in the week was an awful time for Miami Heat fans, with layers upon layers of bad news coming at them.  There was news that they would lose a second-round pick.

Some could say it was due to the NBA picking and choosing when to care about tampering. In reality, it’s a second-round pick though and to be honest, Miami’s front office will find an undrafted guy to develop in their system that will result in equal or better value.

So, that’s a wash. In news that actually matters though, Bam Adebayo will have thumb surgery soon, meaning having to be out for four to six weeks.

It’s an absolute gut-punch for Adebayo and of course, the Miami Heat. Bam being out will really hurt.

With them already not having a lot of big man depth as it is, they’ll have a hard time replacing Adebayo on both ends of the floor. The bad news didn’t stop there for Miami though.

Jimmy Butler missed another series of games, three games so far since last Saturday that include Friday’s win and Saturday’s upcoming contest with a bruised tailbone, as he’s not on this current road trip at all. With Adebayo being out for a good amount of time and Butler needing time to heal, the Miami Heat has needed someone to step up beside Tyler Herro on offense.
