The Miami Heat play the Detroit Pistons again on Thursday night after a painful Sunday night defeat. Food.

They say that “revenge is a dish best served cold”. At least, that’s the old proverb that many have heard.

While it can have many a meaning, one of the most commonly accepted is that it means that it is best to exact revenge after some time has passed for the other party to forget about even suspecting it.

Well, the Miami Heat aren’t so fortunate, and well, why would they want to be? Just a few days removed from losing to these same Pistons in Detroit and embarrassingly, they get a chance to get back on the floor and right the wrong that was that putrid defeat.

And guess what? This time, the Pistons will have to deal with the return of a Herro, the Boy Wonder in Tyler Herro, who made his return against the Pacers.

Though he’ll be in the lineup though, they’ll still be without a couple of key guys. According to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, the Miami Heat will, again, be without Jimmy Butler, Caleb Martin, and P.J. Tucker.

It is also worth a note that Cade Cunningham, Detroit’s number one overall draft pick from this past NBA Draft, is also now in NBA COVID protocols. With that, how might the injuries impact the outcome?

Well, here are the odds for the contest.

The Miami Heat get a chance to avenge Sunday’s defeat on Thursday. Is there a bit of cash to be made as well by hopeful fans?

Analysis

To be completely fair here and right to the point, the Miami Heat should obliterate them. That’s especially after what happened a few days ago in Detroit.

The value isn’t there on the Moneyline though, having to lay $5.50 to earn a buck. The Spread is risky as well, being a big number like that.

However, this one does have strong blowout potential based on all the factors. The Pistons are on the road, to a hot shooting Heat team, playing without Cade Cunningham, and all after they smacked the Heat in Detroit a few days ago.

Again, it could get ugly for them, but the 10.5 points is still a ton to lay in any NBA game. When looking at the total, some of the same logic applies.

Because of the scenario, you don’t know if Detroit will have the scoring, which may leave Miami to get you to that 204 on your own if you take the over. It’s tough to take any under in 2020 and beyond’s NBA, so yea, there’s also that.

If you must make a play, take the topside of the total. It’s the safest and most logical of the trio.

Either way though, the Heat should win this one going away. As always, choose smartly and wager wisely!
