Miami Heat: Initial Reports On Jimmy Butler’s Ankle Are Encouraging
The Miami Heat fought a tough fight on Monday night, though they came up short. Giving the Golden State Warriors all they had to give them, they weren’t able to come through with the victory.
When you look at the came with a whole mindset, it wasn’t a terrible result for the Miami Heat. Though there is no such thing as moral victories or good enoughs with this group, organization, or culture— that’s really what the case was on Monday.
The Miami Heat entered the game down 10 regular guys, as P.J. Tucker returned from a lengthy protocol and leg-injury-based absence. Throughout the game, guys continued to drop like flies, as Omer Yurtseven had to leave the game early on to be stitched up after being cut over his eye.
Though he would return later in the game, not having his size out there for any amount of time really served to hurt Miami.
The Miami Heat went down Jimmy Butler on Monday with an ankle injury, again. The initial reports on the latest incident are pretty encouraging though.
Even bigger than all of that though and near the end of the third period, Jimmy Butler went down with what has been determined to be another ankle injury.
Missing time twice this year with ankle injuries, this was the last thing that anybody wanted to see. Not only are the Miami Heat still beat up, overall and generally with regular NBA injury and protocols, but there are two more things here.
They just got Jimmy Butler back from a lengthy absence due to the tailbone injury and this guy is your, absolute, best player. That’s a classic double whammy.
To add insult to injury and a triple whammy, so to speak, the Miami Heat were defeated in a game that they, very much, have a chance to win if he maintains health throughout. Even with that defeat though and losing Jimmy, they got a win on Tuesday in the form of some good news on their star player.
The Miami Heat’s “initial hope is that Jimmy Butler’s ankle issue is minor”, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. That’s good news in itself and especially in combination with the fact that some other guys are returning from absence as well.
With a pesky Portland squad on tap for Tuesday, they’ll need all the firepower they can get. Beyond that, the initial reports on Jimmy Butler are good and they should expect him back in just a little bit.
