Kyle Guy Has A Lot Of The Very Tools That The Miami Heat Look For
The Miami Heat look for a certain type of guy when adding to their roster. Kyle Guy has a ton of those same qualities.
So, again, how was he not with some team? How did he get away from a terrible Sacramento organization at the moment?
How about a team that could stand to have a bit more of the thing that he does the best? The Cleveland Cavaliers could certainly use his range shooting.
It’s downright befuddling.
He hit on two possible reasons though in his rightfully earned postgame interview from his first game with the Heat against Houston. He spoke to how one of the knocks on him coming into the league were questions about his ability to be a point guard type at his limited size and with his role as a combo guard in college.
He also spoke to his ability to defend. Both of those things shouldn’t be questioned anymore though, because he has shown a great adeptness on both sides of the ball in Miami.
He can definitely defend his position and be pesky doing it, while his ability to make plays for others is apparent, averaging three dimes per game across his three games with the Heat. That isn’t anything colossal, but indicative of his playmaking ability.
He’s a scorer anyway, which is what the Miami Heat probably love about him. And it isn’t just about his scoring or shooting, but how he does it.
He has gumption, coconuts, or the guts as The Godfather, Pat Riley, would say.
See the above shot for proof. He’s got the juice and made of the right stuff.
Hopefully, he can keep showing it in whatever time he has left. The Miami Heat like guys built like him.
They have a means of keeping him around and it all revolves around finagling the Caleb Martin contract situation around. However, it’s possible.
At this point, all signs seem like he would be a nice addition. Hopefully, he can continue to keep making a strong enough impression to do so.
