The Miami Heat have found themselves in a great place thus far this season. Though with a few bumps along the way, by taking advantage of the depth they have managed to accrue over the last season or so, they’ve managed to, not only, sustain their positioning in a tight and tough Eastern Conference race but get ahead in certain areas.

While they haven’t been at full strength or full health, due to regular NBA injuries and the health and safety protocols, the Miami Heat haven’t been able to play with their full deck of cards for some time now.

With Jimmy Butler dealing with numerous injuries throughout the year, along with the constant roster ins and outs of the protocols, a lot of the guys haven’t been able to get consistent time and minutes with the entire team together.

There hasn’t been a ton of time for this team to gel as a complete and healthy unit.

While all of the aforementioned has played a big part in that scenario, another sizeable situation that they have been dealing with has been the absence of Bam Adebayo. After injuring his thumb in a contest against the Denver Nuggets a month or so ago, Bam Adebayo needed surgery to repair issues in the finger.

The Miami Heat have managed to beautifully sustain in the absence of Bam Adebayo. However, the big man seems to be nearing a return to the court.

The original timeline was 4-6 weeks, but they may be nearing the end of that and a return to the court for the big man. Here is the latest piece of evidence, via the Miami Heat’s official Twitter account.

The first thing you notice about the explosive, electric, and athletic big man (outside of the nice lather that he’s seemed to work up from a workout) is that he doesn’t have a brace, a harness, a cast, or any other type of support mechanism on the hand.

That’s a great thing. That means that there is some sore of “completion” to the healing process occurring— or they are very near that point.

The second thing you notice is that he isn’t alone. Where injured players or guys working their way back into form do a ton of work, alone, these photos are clearly ones that take place in a team setting.

You can see a Chris Silva clearly in the background of one of them, which also lets you know the updates are very current. So, for all of the happy tidings and good energy flowing around a conquering Miami Heat squad right now, it just went up a notch.

Their preeminent big man, their second-best player, and one of the linchpins that makes it all go looks to be on his way back. And you just love to see it.
