On the second night of a back-to-back, the Miami Heat looked to be in a good position to get a win against a team that was also on the second night of a back-to-back in the Philadelphia 76ers.

Coming into the FTX Arena, their back-to-back was of the road variety and one that saw them play the Boston Celtics on Friday night. The Miami Heat would get a win over the Atlanta Hawks to complete the sweep of a home and home series on Friday, while the 76ers would also be able to get a victory over the Celtics.

That wasn’t enough for them though coming into the FTX Arena because they definitely looked like a team that wasn’t satisfied on Saturday. Though the game started out with an Omer Yurtseven explosion, Joel Embiid and his Philadelphia 76ers would eventually make it a game.

Though the Miami Heat had them down by double-digit points in the third quarter, the 76ers were able to find a way to even the game out, actually taking a leading into the fourth period.

The Miami Heat looked like they might sweep their back-to-back set on Friday and Saturday. However, Joel Embiid had other plans for his 76ers on the road.

At that point, it was all Joel Embiid. The Miami Heat didn’t help themselves much though, as they couldn’t hit shots either.

Jimmy Butler being included in that number of players that couldn’t get anything to go, they had one of their worst offensive performances of the season and quite frankly, perhaps across the history of the franchise from a single game perspective.

Here is another tweet from Reynolds that further illustrates the theory.

Though no one could stay in front of Tyler Herro when he wanted to go by them and although Omer Yurtseven had himself another heck of a game, the Miami Heat just couldn’t bring enough as a team to get it done.

Considering the amount of missed shots and the lack of being able to contain Joel Embiid when it mattered the most, that’s what happened on Saturday. It happens sometimes, especially against a great player like Embiid.

That isn’t an excuse. They got beat by one of the best players in the game that’s been on a tear.

The Miami Heat will have a day off before they get right back to it, welcoming in the Toronto Raptors on Monday. That should be a very special game and for many reasons.

It’ll be another fun contest to behold, but obviously and mostly because of Kyle Lowry‘s attachment to that franchise.
