The Miami Heat enter their Wednesday night contest refreshed and hopefully, ready to go.

Having two full days off since their last contest against LeBron James and his LA Lakers, a near-dominant performance from them and their best player in Jimmy Butler, the Miami Heat should be prepared to go all out in their first game in a few days.

Facing off against a New York Knicks squad trying to get back into the thick of it all, they are assured to face a motivated team, at least one would think so. As not only are they attempting to climb back into the playoff mix, but they are coached by a guy that just oozes “intensity”.

But then again, maybe not, based on the way their year has gone up until this point. While it’s hard to predict how things will go on Wednesday for the Knicks, the Miami Heat will surely come to play, now protecting their number one seeding in the East.

Here is what the wiseguys think of this contest for Miami.

The Miami Heat welcome in one of their longtime rivals Wednesday night, the New York Knicks. Though not the 90s iteration, it’ll surely be a barn burner.

Analysis

The thing that sticks out the most about this set of odds is the spread.

Though it’s reasonable to assume that in an Eastern Conference bout, against a historical rival, and while said team is fighting for their playoff lives at midseason, things will be tight— but perhaps 6.5 points is a bit optimistic for this matchup.

That’s firmly in the Heat’s favor. However, it could be the bookmakers saying not to be fooled by the records.

With the Miami Heat’s propensity to make games closer than they should be, see Sunday’s game, that could be something there too.

The moneyline is a safe play here, as long as you don’t mind laying $2.50 to make a buck. It should work out in the Heat’s favor though.

The total is a tricky one. The Miami Heat should cross the century mark, but will New York?

Even though they should hit the mid-80 point to 90 point mark, can the Miami Heat make up the difference? This isn’t the game to pay to find out.

The Miami Heat should walk away with another victory here though, continuing their ascent. With more firepower on the way in Victor Oladipo, they should continue to look to set themselves up for a big second half of the season, followed by a hopeful postseason run.
