The Miami Heat are coming off their second astonishingly disappointing loss in as many games. Losing to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, they would come out to lose to a Golden State Warriors team on Tuesday that was without three of their top players.

With Stephen Curry sitting due to an injured foot, while Klay Thompson and Draymond Green would both have the night off for rest, the Golden State Warriors proceeded to beat up on Miami in the end. The game was not without its drama though and by “drama”—we don’t mean on the court.

During a Miami Heat timeout in the early part of the third period, something happened. In case you all missed it, here it is.

Yes, this actually happened. It appears that in the midst of a team discussion during the timeout, Jimmy Butler said something to Coach Spoelstra.

Coach Spoelstra would respond, to which the man, the myth, the Miami Heat legend, Udonis Haslem, would step in as a result. Here is another angle that shows the incident from another vantage.

The Miami Heat took another L to a hobbled team Wednesday. Among that though, there was another very heated situation happening on the bench.

It’s a real doozy when you splice the two looks in your mind.

While the contents of this little chat between members of the Miami Heat will be discussed, ad nauseam, over the next few days and while the results will all bare themselves out over the Miami Heat’s final nine games of the regular season, there is one definitive thing that can be taken from this little kerfuffle.

This is the reason why Udonis Haslem still has a roster spot. Listen, hear us out here.

This isn’t Minnesota. This isn’t “Jimmy Butler being a cancer”.

The difference between this and his Timberwolves situation is that they didn’t have a guy that could afford to or was solid enough to say these things. You need a guy with as big a pair as Jimmy Butler to be able to say the things to him that he needs to hear.

The Captain, the OG, Udonis Haslem, certainly is one of those dudes.

And UD did that. You can tell that Haslem was on the fair side of it because it appears that he and Coach Spo were on the same side.

What this is—is this though.

This is the competitive nature of the NBA and amongst a team that has, not only, been one of the best in the league all year, but remains one of the best, looking to make a deep postseason run.

Now, the other side of this will also be the answer to a lot of the questions surrounding this particular situation. However, as far as one of the initial reads on the scenario, this is the best summation of the events in question.
