The Miami Heat Need Tyler Herro ‘The Playmaker’ To Stick Around

Tyler can score, that’s a fact. It is usually how the 6MOY award gets decided, at least lately.

Last year’s winner, Jordan Clarkson, found success as a ball-dominant scorer. His main job was buckets and not much else.

Herro needs to be and is a bucket. Defensively, he can struggle and get targeted, so he needs to be scoring to be on the floor as we enter the playoffs.

The playoffs are when things get a little different as well. Defenses tighten up and opposing coaches scheme for top-scoring opponents, so Herro will need to be ready to keep attacking.

This is now his third year, meaning he won’t be an unknown like he was in the bubble. But for where there is a good coach on the other side, to remind his team that Tyler Herro has arrived, there is another in Herro’s corner in Erik Spoelstra.

Spo knows the schemes are coming and can get creative to find team success, whether that be for Tyler, himself, or otherwise. And team success is where this all comes together.

What that means is this. Herro will be scoring in the playoffs but a better question might be this one.

How much will he be passing?
