Miami Heat: From ‘Hated Super Team’ To ‘No One Believes In Us’

Jump on the internet and you’ll see Heat fans complaining that the media doesn’t talk about them enough. This is fair too, for a team that had the number one seed, the national media coverage was scarce compared to prior days.

A lot of the talk was about the Lakers and one particular player, the Nets, Sixers, Bucks, and Celtics. Even still, you can see fans complain that after Game 1 against Philly, the topic is how the Sixers failed and not enough about how the Heat prevailed.

(That one’s not exactly true though. There is a bit of national attention on Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and their dominance thus far in the series.)

Despite fan bias, there is a point there. The Heat have been tagged as a fluke since their last NBA Finals appearance in the bubble.

As mentioned, they are the least favored number one seed by a good amount. They really are the “nobody believes in us” team—by no exaggeration.
