The Miami Heat are headed to the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals! After a long year of ups, downs, and even a fight on the sidelines, the Miami Heat are one step closer to their ultimate goals and just a series win away from being able to compete for the NBA Title.

Now, they still have a long Conference Finals ahead of them, regardless of who the opponents are between the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks, however, the point of it all is this. They made it there and they now have that chance after, almost, everyone considered them to be a paper tiger of a number one seed.

Speaking of them making it there though, after Thursday’s Game 6 win over the Philadelphia 76ers to close them out, Jimmy Butler had a couple of transparent comments in his postgame interview. Here they are.

Jimmy Butler said what a lot of us have known for some time. There is a real connection between Jimmy Butler and his former big man.

The Miami Heat are headed to the ECF on the back of their best player, Jimmy Butler. And though he misses Embiid, he knows he belongs in Miami.

As he stated, he wishes he was still on Joel Embiid‘s team, but he loves the Miami Heat. Both of those things can exist at the same time.

To this point, here was Joel Embiid’s response.

It’s really that simple. Both of those guys knew that a tandem featuring them could be special. They seem like similarly minded guys, though Jimmy Butler’s work ethic and tendency to be a joyful jerk about winning is probably what Joel is missing.

Jimmy Butler has an ability to hold everyone accountable, which was and probably is the thing that Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers are missing the most. Don’t you ever question if Jimmy Butler is happy about where he is and who he plays for though.

As he stated, he loves the Miami Heat. You absolutely should believe that.

Not only, has he played some of his best ball in a Miami Heat jersey, but he and the organization are a symbiotic pair, something that’s been evident for a long time. Jimmy would also reiterate in his postgame presser.

He would simply say that he’s “where I belong. A place where I should’ve been a long time ago.” Ah, that’s music to a Heat fan’s ears.
