The Miami Heat have a few tasks ahead of them this offseason. One of them is certainly keeping P.J. Tucker in the fold.

Opting out of the second year of his two-year deal with the Miami Heat on Monday, the Heat need to be sure to do all they can to bring the rugged utility guy back. With him hinting at seeking more security moving forward in earlier comments this offseason, a raise, more than just one more committed year on a deal, or both, this was expected.

With that in mind though, there is an important question that the Heat must ask themselves. Can they count on P.J. Tucker to be this version or something close for two more years or beyond and especially at a higher ticket price?

No one knows the answer for sure, so this isn’t making that case. However, there is room to believe that he can or that he isn’t as treaded of a player as his age might imply.

Let’s talk about it.
