The Miami Heat are in an enviable position right now. Being able to sit back and watch the demise of a foe and the relinquishing of big-time talent simultaneously happen, they can play things slowly and deliberately.

Well, if they choose to get involved, as they reportedly don’t want anything to do with Kyrie Irving right now. That might be the best thing though.

Getting right to it, Kyrie Irving joining the Miami Heat— is hard to picture, like really hard. That’s for more reasons than one.

Kyrie listed Miami as one of his preferred destinations if an agreement can’t be reached with Brooklyn. Here are the top three reasons why it shouldn’t happen though.

The actual trade isn’t there. Money-wise, it’s hard to find the salaries to match, unless you throw in Kyle Lowry.

While it might be wise to move on from Lowry, the problems he presents are negligible compared to Kyrie. So if you don’t want to include Lowry in the deal, the trade would have to be focused around Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson.

Those are the biggest salaries available for the Heat to move and it doesn’t matter how many throw-ins there are attached, the numbers just don’t work. Kyrie makes too much money.

It doesn’t matter if that’s on an extension, the last year of his deal, or through a sign and trade. It wouldn’t work.
