Miami Heat: Spurs Can Match Any Lonnie Walker IV Offer, But Will They?

Defensively is where he has the tools to really make an impact on the floor though. His athleticism isn’t only noticeable on the offensive end, but it really could help him be an elite stopper too.

He has the lateral quickness and discipline, he just needs to show it more consistently. Showing an increased ability to read the passing lanes this past season and being more active in them, he found himself able to average a career-best 1.2 steals.

He really should remind you of an athletically primed Iman Shumpert, back when he was with the New York Knicks. Walker could be a nice player for Miami and especially if Oladipo were to leave in free agency.

He still has work to do, but at mid-level money or smaller, it could be a great addition. Now, with San Antonio trading Dejounte Murray recently and Walker’s RFA status, he may never even have the chance to leave, so there’s always that to keep in mind.
