The Miami Heat are, once again, the toast of the news cycle!

Kevin Durant has shocked the NBA by formally requesting a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. This is going to be a historic trade.

He might be the best player to ever request a trade in NBA history. As one of the top three players in the league, nearly every team is going to be after him, including the Miami Heat.

Do the Heat have a chance to acquire Kevin Durant? Fortunately, yes, they do.

Kevin Durant revealed that the two teams on his wish list are the Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns. While it is ultimately up to the Nets to decide where Durant will play, it is worth noting that he has a no-trade clause.

The Nets will be looking for the best trade possible so they can get the most in return. The Heat have a lot to offer for Durant.

Kevin Durant has requested a trade and the Miami Heat are a team on his list. Bam Adebayo and Team USA might be a key to landing him, but can they?

They have several young players with bright futures that they can offer in a package. They also have plenty of shooters that the Nets could want to surround Ben Simmons with three-point marksmen.

These players would keep the Nets in contention while also providing them with a bright future. The biggest key for the Miami Heat might just be the interaction between Kevin Durant and Bam Adebayo as members of Team USA during the Tokyo Olympics though.

Players talk to each other. These two definitely formed a bond and it is very likely one of the reasons that Durant is interested in joining the Heat.

This is further evidenced by reports that the player on the Heat that Durant would like to play with is Adebayo.

Durant carried Team USA and led them to the gold medal in Tokyo, but he definitely noticed the impact Bam had on the defensive end for the team. The defensive prowess of the Miami Heat will definitely intrigue Durant, considering that he has dealt with a weaker defensive team for the past few seasons with the Nets.

The Miami Heat will have to send out a huge package in order to acquire Kevin Durant, but it is worth it. It is not often you get a chance to acquire a player with the skills of Durant.

The Heat have a history of getting superstars. Hopefully, Pat Riley can get one more this summer.
