The Miami Heat have been a hot topic as free agency has gotten underway, with links to the likes of Donovan Mitchell and Kevin Durant. However, one name has sparked the interest of the Miami Heat fan base and especially with P.J. Tucker’s exit.
According to reports, a reunion with Phoenix power forward, Jae Crowder, might be in the cards. Even though Crowder only spent one season in Miami, playing only 20 games, Crowder would be a huge factor in helping the Heat make the 2019-2020 NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.
During those games he played in Miami, he averaged 11.9 points per game, 5.4 rebounds, and would be a factor on both sides of the ball. His most memorable game during the playoff run for Miami was the first game in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics, where Miami would win in overtime, 117-114.
With free agency underway and big names already on the target list for the Miami Heat, could Jae Crowder, perhaps, be one of the most key pickups?
In this contest, he would score 22 points, grab five rebounds, and add in two blocks. So, why should Miami be looking to bring him back?
It’s pretty simple. As mentioned, Crowder would be able to reassume his position as a key four-man in a Heat rotation that will now be without Tucker.
Crowder can also knock down open shots, find the wide open man with his unselfish play, and finish at the rim when given the lane to attack. His style of play would also take some of the pressure off of Bam Adebayo, as Crowder would not be afraid to attack the glass on both ends of the court.
He also shows an ability to play on the block whenever necessary or the opportunity arises. With all the names that the Heat are targeting in free agency, reuniting with Crowder might be one of the most key moves.
Will Crowder reunite with Butler and the Miami Heat? That is the huge question here.
We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next.
