Miami Heat Summer League: Kyle Allman Jr. Worth Keeping Close Eye On

After earning the starting point guard role with double-figures scored in both games, here’s an overview of what Allman Jr. is bringing to the table.

KYLE ALLMAN JR. IS A CRAFTY AND ATHLETIC GUARD WITH A RELENTLESS DRIVING AND PLAYMAKING MENTALITY.

As Heat Summer League coach, Malik Allen, went forward with a quicker starting five on Sunday, there was a noticeable improvement in Miami’s offense. Allman Jr, a 6’4” and 174-pound guard, was a large part of that improvement as he’s added more speed to the lineup.

While sharing some of the primary ball-handling duties with current Heat two-way talent, Javonte Smart, Allman Jr. didn’t waste much time making his on-court presence felt. Just like he did against Los Angeles, he was picking his spots to score but also finding others off the drive.

That is what has really stood out about Allman’s game (including the pro-level athleticism), his playmaking skills through short gaps. Combining the knack to finish well on drives, he has a quick burst that can lure defenses into over-committing.
