As the Miami Heat organization continues its trudge through the offseason, they have several simultaneous pieces of business that they must attend to. Continuing the process of the summer circuit and developmental period, one that is so key to how they operate as a franchise, the Miami Heat also have other things going on.

Most famously, probably the pendulum from which all other moves swing, is the Kevin Durant trade request. Being one of his top two preferred destinations, the Miami Heat are likely doing all they can to stay in that mix.

Even with all of that though, there is something else that appears to be materializing behind the scenes. Well, that’s, at least, according to what’s being reported.

During the Miami Heat’s first summer league game in Las Vegas, now dubbed the NBA 2K23 League, Turner Sports and Yahoo Sports reporter, Chris Haynes, detailed the latest on a potential Tyler Herro extension.

The Miami Heat have a lot going on right now but apparently, one of them is working new deal for Tyler Herro. Here are the latest details.

He would note that they are in a “good place” on the Herro deal. He would include that it could be for five years and $180 million dollars, though he wasn’t sure it would get that high.

He also stated that the sides weren’t sure if it would be a four or five-year pact at this point. However, there were two statements of confidence made near the end of the report.

Not only would Haynes close his spew by saying that the sides were confident that they would get a deal done to keep him in Miami but former Miami Heat first-round pick, Steve Smith, would also point out something from his broadcast table as a commentator.

Tyler Herro and a lot of Miami Heat top representation were present at the game and seated beside each other. That’s a good sign for a group that you hope can stay together.

Here’s the kicker though and back to how this whole piece started, you imagine that if the Miami Heat are able to do a deal for someone such as Kevin Durant, it’ll likely take Herro to get it done. Who knows what the future holds though and you hope that you can keep Tyler Herro in a Heat jersey, however, you have to also have a semblance of reality to the thought process.

As far as getting a deal done to keep him there though, outside of any transaction or trade withstanding, the Miami Heat and Herro look to be on a similar page.
