So, what if the Miami Heat just end up having to run it back?
Miami Heat: Remember, They Were One Game Away From NBA Finals Last Year
While this Heat team could certainly use some more offensive explosion, based on last season and not accounting for development, leaps, or lights coming on for any particular current guys on the roster, they were one game away from the NBA Finals last season.
Heck and with a fully healthy Kyle Lowry and Tyler Herro, perhaps with just one fully healthy of the two, things may have been different. You can’t assume, but there has to be some merit given to the circumstances.
With all that being said, that would leave P.J. Tucker as the only real hole to fill.
Yes, it’s a massive hole to fill with all he did for Miami last season, but with Haywood Highsmith’s showings on the summer circuit, the addition of another versatile two-way contract guy like Darius Days, and perhaps another smaller move to acquire more power forward depth, the Miami Heat could be more than alright in that spot too.
Heck, bringing Markieff Morris back to help fill out depth, in the event that they do nothing else of note, wouldn’t even be the worst thing. They could deploy the aforementioned trio and whatever else they are able to add to get quality production from the spot.
In any situation though, all that has been to say this. Running it back wouldn’t be the most ideal thing in the world, but it wouldn’t be the absolute worst thing in the world for this group either.
