Miami Heat: Jimmy Needs A Number Two, But He’s A Bonafide Number One

While Jimmy Butler has always been a very good player, capable of being the best or one of the best players on a winning team—he’s shown you now that he can be the best player on both sides of the ball and the big shot maker for a title team.

He’s found surefire offense in his ability to attack the rim for conversions or to draw contact. He’s mastered the midrange game.

He’s even begun to expand his range again, something he’s working on this offseason and something he showed to close last season. Now, he still needs someone to step up to be his backup guy to win it all, preferably a Bam Adebayo finally realizing his true offensive potential to become that consistent every night second guy.

However, when it comes to having a guy to drive the bus, Jimmy Butler has shown you he can do that during his time in Miami. He’s shown you that in the process of fully rounding out who he is as a player, coming into his final form.

In short, Jimmy Butler has just reached his peak as a player. The major question for the Miami Heat lifer from this point on, hopefully, is how long he can sustain at that peak.
