Miami Heat: Semi Ojeleye A Physical Specimen With Unteachable Traits On D

He would’ve been an intriguing option for a Heat team that’s looking for low-end value, as his impact is much higher than you think.

What Ojeleye has provided at the highest level cannot be taught. This is a 6’6″ 240-pound ox-like specimen who adds another layer of strength, agility, hustle, and one heck of a motor.

He can fit right away into any defensive scheme and seems to check all boxes for the Heat’s conditioning requirements.

Ojeleye has the build to defend most players on the floor, as he rotates well, doesn’t get out of position, and uses his leaping ability to challenge larger players despite the lack of height for his position.

This recovery is encouraging for any switch-heavy defense to have. The Heat could certainly or could have used another capable backline defender and plays of this magnitude can really determine the outcome of games.

He might not be the most distinguished veteran or enforcer, but he would’ve brought reassurance on the other end—much in the manner of Tucker.
