Miami Heat: Top Form Jimmy Butler Is, Hands Down, One Of The League’s Best

It is a lot of words to say Butler was playing out of his mind. A lethal scorer and troublesome defender, Butler is the reason the Miami Heat continued to advance.

The shot of 22 leaning over a sideline table in the 2020 Finals, gasping for air on one leg as he lifted the injured Miami squad past the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 is, perhaps, the postseason image of Butler that most conjure up when thinking about his dominance at times.

However, the more recent iteration of Butler bowling through teams just months ago is even more impressive. The ceiling for the bus driver that is Jimmy Butler would also put the Heat in championship contention and him as an individual in MVP contention.

Following a season in which Jimmy Buckets carried nagging injuries into the playoffs, health will be the key factor for him again this season, as it always is for such a rough and tumble player. Now, you can say that about every player but at 32 and with his playing style, it is the only thing that stands in Butler’s way.

He has the keys to the car and proved he can throw it into high gear—now, he just has to stay on the road to be able to do it.
