Considering LeBron James Among Miami Heat GOATs

The Miami Heat have an illustrious history, though they are one of the youngest teams in the entire NBA. When you look at teams by birth year, they are the sixth youngest team behind New Orleans (2002), Toronto (1995), Memphis (1995), Orlando (1989), and Minnesota (1989).

However, when you go to rank the titles won by each franchise, the Miami Heat sit in a three-way tie for sixth place at three titles to their name. That just speaks to the rich nature of their history, though it isn’t much of it by some standards.

In that same light, when people think of the Greatest Miami Heat Players Of All Time, there are a few names that automatically come up. Dwyane Wade is at the very top of that heap, the greatest player in franchise history, while guys like the great Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway, Chris Bosh, Jimmy Butler, and a few others can come up.

Here’s the thing though, the names that do come up are just as interesting as those that don’t. That would, specifically, be guys like Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James.
