While much of this offseason has been focused on players the Miami Heat hope to add to their team, let’s switch the focus to players the Heat do have on their team. One of the brighter young talents on their team is Marcus Garrett.

Garrett is a young guard who wasn’t a main part of the rotation last year. That being said, if he can improve enough, he could definitely earn some more minutes in the coming season.

With the Miami Heat lacking some depth at the guard position, it will be critical for Garrett to improve enough that he can be trusted to play valuable minutes in important games.

When we analyze a player’s improvement each year, we usually do so by comparing them to a standard.

By comparing Garrett to a player whose style of play is similar to his, we can determine his areas for growth. That also helps us figure out what the peak potential for a player could look like.

So, here goes nothing. Let’s talk about the NBA guy, past or present, who Marcus Garrett could most resemble if he hits his peak.
