The Miami Heat have pursued another star player this offseason. If all the rumors and reporting are remotely close to being accurate, you have to believe that, at least, at this point.

What you also have to know right now is that they have, largely, been unsuccessful in those attempts. With eyes on Kevin Durant, Donovan Mitchell, and others, the Heat have come up short in their attempt, but only because they have been patient, shrewd, and refuse to flat-out lose a deal.

You can appreciate that. Obviously, that’s not where the appreciation of moments during this NBA offseason stops.

Knowing all that is happening around the league, the speculation with his team, and on the Kevin Durant front recently, the Miami Heat’s best player, Jimmy Butler, took to social media to nudge the fans.

The Miami Heat have tried to secure another star all offseason long, it seems. Amid all of that, Jimmy Butler took that chance to nudge fans a little.

Speaking towards his offseason, Jimmy Butler is, apparently, headed back up north to spend some time. As alluded to in his caption, he’s “just going back to NY”.

But also as he alluded to, he didn’t get traded. When you see the first line of Butler’s caption though—”Miami it’s been real!”, it can frighten you a bit if it caught you off guard.

With all of the speculation surrounding Durant, his reiterated trade request, and his preferred team list, to see Jimmy Butler moved wouldn’t have been impossible.

Now, you don’t think the Miami Heat would ever move him, as Kevin Durant still needs a dog to win, Jimmy Butler is a top-10 player in the world right now, and he has done so much for them in the past three years, but you never say never.

You’ve seen stranger things happen in sports and especially in the NBA. As it stands though, this was just a nudge by the trickster that is Jimmy Butler.

It’s time to move on from the Kevin Durant pipe dream. dark. Next
