The Miami Heat aren’t for everybody. It’s really as simple as that.

There are examples littered throughout the history of the organization. Take the Big 3 Era for example.

When faced with a bit of contempt from the biggest of his three stars at the time, LeBron James, Pat Riley stood his ground and continued to do things the way that the Miami Heat do them. Though the rumors are that James wanted Riley to take over the coaching duties from Erik Spoelstra early on, that didn’t happen and the rest is history.

Take a more recent example from this past season. The sideline snafu that everyone around the world saw.

For most teams, that sideline explosion implodes their season but not for the Miami Heat. They said it would draw them closer and that they would move past it, which they then did.

The Miami Heat aren’t for everybody and that’s alright. A guy that they are for and have been for two decades though… is Udonis Haslem.

Every team or group would say that, but how many would succeed? The Miami Heat did.

Again, they are not for everyone. However, one guy that they are for and have been for the last two decades is Udonis Haslem.

And speaking in totality on the “two decades”, he’s officially declared that he’s coming back for year 20.

A huge part of both of the aforementioned examples of the Miami Heat Culture at work, Haslem will continue what he began so long ago. Not knowing if he would continue his career, he noted how the passing of his father really impacted a decision that they had made together in the past.

Mentioning how they had discussed him getting to 20 years, it wasn’t quite as much of a certainty now that he was gone. However, Haslem has made the decision to come back to do it again.

Needing a voice like his in their locker room, something most teams could benefit from honestly, he will continue to be that solid rock that he has been for so long.

Next. Jimmy Butler just reaching the peak of his powers. dark

UD is back and it would only be right to make another solid run at the title in what might be the last year of a long and illustrious Miami Heat career for the Miami native.
