Miami Heat: If LeBron James Never Leaves, Anthony Davis Likely Still Joins Him

During the 2018-2019 NBA season, the Heat would have likely begun dealing with financial troubles, if they hadn’t already. They would not have had the money to actually get players like Goran Dragic.

An aging Wade would not be able to carry the Heat to the playoffs in the last season of his career, and he would retire. That brings us to the offseason leading up to the 2019-2020 NBA season.

In reality, the Lakers made a trade that paired James with superstar, Anthony Davis, who requested a trade to the team. This time, Davis ends up on the Heat, and here is why.

First, Davis was interested in playing with LeBron James. They both have the same agent in Rich Paul.

Hot. LeBron James would have dominated in the 90’s too. light

They both have championship aspirations. LeBron would be interested in joining forces with the big man, as in real life.

Secondly, the Heat now would have the space to acquire a big market name such as Davis. Chris Bosh’s contract would have expired, so now the only player that would be getting paid a max contract is LeBron.

The Heat can let go of Whiteside, offer some picks, and whoever they added to the roster during all of this as a trade package to the Pelicans. With the dynamic duo of James and Davis, the Miami Heat now would have had the talent to return to the NBA Finals.

The duo was able to win a championship in their first season together in LA. They would probably have done the same thing if they played in Miami—the team they beat to get that title.
