The Miami Heat haven’t been able to add a big name to their roster this offseason, but they have plenty of talent around the building already. From seasoned vets like Jimmy Butler to still emerging young stars like Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, the Miami Heat have a little of it all to offer.

They also tend to find the talent that nobody else values as well, a slew of them over the years. Gabe Vincent is another one and should look to continue to build upon an excellent last couple of seasons for the Miami Heat.

Averaging about nine points, two rebounds, and three assists across around 23 minutes per game last season, there is more room to grow for the former UC Santa Barbara Gaucho.

The Miami Heat have a way of finding guys out of nowhere. One of their current gems, Gabe Vincent, should be in line for major growth this season.

Speaking of growth though, this next highlight is a great illustration of what his role should evolve into in the coming season.

In this play, Vincent clearly is the man that comes to back Kyle Lowry up after his miss. With time dwindling in the game, Lowry took the range shot to break the tie, but his backup was there to close the deal.

Now, Vincent was in the game in the first place in this situation because he was having a really good game, finishing with 26 points, two rebounds, and three assists, but he’ll likely have these opportunities, in general, this coming season as his role continues to grow with the team.

That’s just it though. His role will be the guy that mainly comes to backup or “pick up” Lowry when he can’t go, isn’t feeling it, or just needs to give it a moment.

At this point, Gabe Vincent is your backup point guard, capable of running your team or second unit, but also capable of bringing some offensive punch to the lineup. As the highlight also insinuates, he also shows an ability to do it in the clutch.

What a great guy to have off the bench, right? Indeed and this highlight is a great illustration of what to expect this season.
