Miami Heat: Building Out The Greatest All-Time Starting Five
Guard: Dwyane Wade
The first guard to make the Miami Heat’s all-time starting lineup is the greatest player in franchise history—Dwyane Wade.
Although he can play as a point guard, he won’t be playing the role of the primary playmaker in this lineup. It is Wade’s speed and defensive skills as a guard that will make him valuable in this lineup.
Dwyane Wade jumped on everyone’s radar by notching a triple-double against Kentucky while he was playing at Marquette. That type of versatility carried over to his professional playing career and is the reason why he will be in the starting lineup.
Guard: Jimmy Butler
After what he accomplished last season, it would be wrong to leave Jimmy Butler off of this list. After an impressive effort in the 2020 NBA Finals and his entire 2022 postseason, Butler has solidified himself as one of the all-time greats for the Miami Heat.
And Jimmy Butler isn’t finished yet! He still wants to deliver a championship to the Miami Heat as the best player on the team.
He won’t quit until he achieves that. In terms of his fit in the lineup, Butler’s defensive ability completes an excellent defensive backcourt.
Butler is also skilled at making sure others are getting involved with his playmaking ability. If any particular player is struggling, Butler can be relied upon to carry a heavier scoring load as well.
Here’s where things get really freaky though. Freaky athletic, freaky big, and just plain long freakish athletic beings.
