Miami Heat: Kyle Lowry has to take his good looks from range
Kyle Lowry is too good of a shooter to pass up on open threes. The team’s biggest issue last season was the half-court offense.
If Lowry is taking his looks, then that should only help to open it up more for everyone. His three-point attempts were at 6.1 per game last season, where you would actually like to see Lowry take closer to eight threes a game.
More volume from three from Lowry would be huge for Miami, as it should inevitably mean more production from the career 36.8 deep shooter. He would also best serve himself and his team to get back to taking his transition three.
For whatever reason over the past couple of seasons, the Miami Heat have had a hard time getting something consistently good off the break.
If Lowry, once again, looks to take his patented transition three, it should not only help them produce with his raw scoring there but allow everyone else to have easier looks and opportunities in that situation because of the threat it provides.
Lowry doesn’t need to be a score, per se, for Miami as much as he needs to be a shooter. But no matter how that eventually looks and as long as it’s more towards the aggressive side, Lowry’s offensive mindset needs to change in year two.
