Miami Heat lose to Celtics but Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry bounce back
By Noah Decker
After losing their season opener vs the Chicago Bulls, the Miami Heat played the team that eliminated them in the playoffs last year. Heading into the matchup, the Heat made sure that they would bring the energy for their matchup against the Boston Celtics.
Let’s rewind back to the game against the Bulls. The Heat, particularly the starters, struggled with defense in the second half.
They allowed DeMar DeRozan to score 37 points, including 19 points in the third quarter. Two Miami Heat players, in particular, had a rough night.
Although Bam Adebayo had a good night defensively, he struggled from the field, making just five shots in fifteen attempts. The problem was that Bam was missing easy shots like layups and dunks.
The Miami Heat lost their season opener, while Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry had poor performances too. However, both bounced back in a loss to the Celtics.
Kyle Lowry also had a rough night, shooting just 14 percent from the field and scoring only two points. Miami’s starting duo was able to turn things around in the game against the Celtics.
Lowry looked like his old self. He was everywhere on the floor, adding 17 points and six assists while also drawing a charge.
Bam was definitely more efficient and dominant offensively, chipping in 19 points and eight boards. It was good to see a bounce-back game from both of these players.
However, it would have been nicer to see it result in a win for Miami, especially against the Celtics team that eliminated them from the playoffs last season. Instead, the Heat have started their season going 0-2.
Although the Heat are off to a losing start to the season, it is not a time to panic. The Heat went up against some very good teams to start the season.
They will win plenty of games to remain competitive in the East this year. This bounce-back game from Bam and Lowry was evidence of just that, meaning, they have fight.
The Heat have a chance to win their first game against the Toronto Raptors and you can expect to see them come out slugging again.
