Caleb Martin Has Improved His Offense In Multiple Facets For Miami Heat

For so long now with Martin, he has shot his jumper on the way down, so to speak.

That, not only, forced him to inevitably have to overcompensate, touch and strength wise on the shot, for the down-coming release but it also left his motion a bit hitchy as well. That impacted the effectiveness of his shot from a conversion standpoint, but also in that it impacted his ability to even get it off over the defense.

Now, trying to shoot it at the top of his release or at least, on the way up, Martin is experiencing more success in both areas. He’s hitting more, while he’s also able to get it off over defenders—even bigger ones in some cases.

Now, he’s been asked to do a bit more on that side with Jimmy Butler being down, as they all have. Like the rest of them too though, Martin has to remember not to take a step back when Butler does return.

Having more potent and aggressive guys around him should only be good for what Jimmy Butler can do. Besides, when you are going as well as Caleb Martin has been going over this recent stretch, you don’t become tentative for anyone.
