‘Bam Adebayo or bust’ might just be a reality for the Miami Heat

Bam Adebayo May Not ‘Shoot The Shot’, But He Must Be In The Action
He’s a max player and he needs the shot attempts like one. Getting the big man involved and going early causes the defense to collapse, which then lets Miami’s deadly shooters do their thing.
When he is dominating the ball, it leads to wins. In the games against Cleveland and Minnesota, he got going early and Miami was either ahead or in the game.
When he loses touches, they’re down and have no rhythm to actually get back into the game. Even in the loss against the Detroit Pistons, Bam shot 66 percent on nine attempts with zero dribbles.
Basically, when they found him, he scored.
Through three quarters against the Pistons, he shot 14 times. In the fourth quarter, he shot only two times.
Miami was outscored, 38 to 23, in the fourth. Not much else needs to be said.
This team cannot afford to not give this guy the ball. Outside of Caleb Martin, the Heat have not been getting much production from their role players, which is what made Miami so good last year.
You know what you’ll get from Jimmy, but you never know what you’ll get from Bam. Some nights they feed him every play and some, he’s being put in a corner.
This is not a team that can rely on full team efforts anymore. Bam Adebayo needs to be given the ball more and prioritized, or the Heat will continue to lose to the worst teams in the league.
It’s Bam or bust at this point and while Miami does have a lot of issues to deal with, the solution is in the problem for this one.
