The Miami Heat got a pretty decent road win on New Year’s Eve. With four quarters of exciting basketball capped off by a huge Tyler Herro buzzer-beater to end the fourth and win the game for the Heat, it was definitely something to build on for the remainder of this Miami Heat road trip.

Speaking of “building on” things though, the Miami Heat have been a relatively successful bunch over the last several seasons, only coming up short in situations where it seemed as if not enough of his teammates stepped up to give Jimmy Butler consistent help when it mattered the most.

You looked to everyone on the team, but especially the top four or five guys on the roster after Jimmy Butler in the pecking order.

The Miami Heat know what Jimmy Butler will bring in the biggest moments. And with a rapidly maturing Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, they’re on to something.

When it comes to two and three there though, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, you definitely have needed them to give you more in the biggest moments on more occasions.

And in this season, though the Miami Heat have yet to get anywhere near where they want to be, you do see the signs that both of those guys are “growing up” right before our very eyes. In a basketball sense, that means being a professional in the light of knowing that this is the expectation every single night and being able to deliver.

And they have this season. It matters when the roster is in full swing with everyone healthy, but you definitely need and notice it on nights when Jimmy Butler isn’t going.

The Miami Heat continue this road trip with a visit to Los Angeles to see the Clippers, who have Kawhi Leonard back in the mix, always providing for a tough test along with Paul George. They then face the Lakers.

In a recent game rematch, the Lakers will surely be looking for some get-back. And they close the trip with a game against the Suns, a team without their best player in Devin Booker and searching for some things themselves.

These are all very winnable games for the Miami Heat and if Herro and Bam continue to mature as they have and as rapidly as they are, then the Miami Heat should continue to be right in every game they play.
