The Miami Heat dropped a tough one on Sunday evening. Facing off against one of the best and hottest teams in the Eastern Conference and the entire NBA on Sunday, the Brooklyn Nets, this was a good barometer game for a Miami Heat team seeming to be looking in the right direction.

Though they are taking steps, you stop short of “heading” because they have to find more consistency in the things that lead to victory for them. However, you use “seem to be looking” as they are consistently doing those things more than they aren’t right now.

That’s a far cry from where they have been, at points, in this year.

However, back to Sunday, the Miami Heat came out and showed you the best of them on both sides.

Though they would allow over 60 points scored in the first half to a potent Nets bunch, they would also score 60 points in the half on a much-improved Nets defense. Now, still needing to show some classic Miami Heat defensive chops, they would do that too as they opened up the second half.

Only allowing 13 Brooklyn points in the third period, the Miami Heat would set themselves up to be able to walk away victorious. And though the game was highly contested right up until the very end, the Miami Heat weren’t able to walk out with a win.
